Cylon Basestar
Day 2 on the Cylon Basestar. I already did a test print for scale on the hull with no details. Now it is time to go back and start detailing it out since I now know the sections I need to break the model up to print.

WIP Loki
Well Day 3 down on the books. Made some minor shaping corrections to the nose of the ship and started detailing the upper hull of the deck. The VFX guys/gals that created this ship went over board with details. The stills of this ship in Blood and Chrome really do not show off all these details they put in it. I believe I am the first to discover that the port side of this ship at the neck is has two tiers to it. This area is noticeably cut out to possibly allow for another landing bay for quick troop transporting. This is a first ship in the series that is potentially not symmetrical.

Work in Progress: Loki
This is long over due. I have wanted to get the Loki project started back in June of this year. This has been the first two days worth of 3D modeling progress put towards this endeavor. Roughly 16 hours worth of work and about 320K polys.
The Loki will also be used for BSG: A Thin Red Line

Colonial Movers
I did another pass over this model to add in more detail. I am currently doing another test print to see if it can pick out the details or if they are just to small. Ship is only 2.6 inches /66mm long.

Colonial Movers
I had a little free time today to start working on a newish project. Actually I will need some Civilian ships for the BSG tabletop game I have been working on. This is the engine section of the Colonial Movers. I still have some details to work on in this area but it is a start on the over all shape.
I also proto-typed out another BSG Ship panel this week and have it assembled. I just need to start rewording my Cylon AI cards and thinking about the design and graphics to make it all harmonious and easy to understand.

Slave House
Layer Height: 0.175
Two Part model, base of the house and removable roof.
*The picture above is the Front and Back view of the same model.
History and the use of the name slave house.
As much as I would like to find a different term to describe what these houses really where.
There is no way to turn our backs on what truly happened in the past. We shouldn't turn a blinds eye to what was done in the past. So called Civil Society was okay with the practice of slavery. Remember what was done to a group of people, this is not to honor slavery but honor those ancestors that endured so it may never happen again.
This model of a this slave house can be found on many Caribbean Islands today as historic buildings.
These houses were very small between 12-16ft long. Only had a single door with an exposed window.

About Reckless Terrain
About Reckless Terrain
This is why I use the name of Reckless.
It was a very bold step and frankly a very reckless and bold move. But in 2012 I started researching 3D printers and watching Kickstarter for the next wave of advancements in 3D printing. I knew with a good quality printer and my 3D modeling back ground I could create what I wanted as a Tabletop gamer. Needless to say, 3D printers are not cheap and I simply didn't have the funds to purchase one.
An online 3D printing company called Shapeways was actively printing. So I set up a shop and started my Reckless Store which is still running to this date. Which can be found here https://www.shapeways.com/shops/reckless
Every year I would save up just enough funds to buy a nice 3D printer only to have some sort of emergency come up. Each year the 3D printers specs and advancements would improve. In May of 2017, I ran across a YouTube video for a Mono Price Mini Select 3D Printer and it was turning out very good quality prints if you under stood how to tweak its settings. The only down side was the fact it only has a 4 x 4 x 4 inch build area. As luck would have it, I purchased my printer while on lunch break at work. Buying the last one available while a Version 2 was close to coming to market.
Things rapidly changed over night once I had the printer dialed in.
In mid April of 2017, I noticed a new Tabletop game from Firelock Games called "Blood & Plunder" which is a historical Pirate game. Their rules looked solid and they have full blown ship to ship combat including boarding parties. I took the plunge and started designing some terrain for the game. After a couple of weeks of joining their Facebook page, I realized there was a demand for new items.
Again during my lunch break on a Saturday morning, it occurred to me that maybe I should ask Firelock if they wanted any help designing terrain to support their game. It took every bit of my being to send off that message but I was at a cross roads and would it honestly hurt not to just ask?
In less than 10 minutes I was contacted with a definite interest in doing a line of terrain. In fact they want to reason a whole line of terrain to support their game.
I learned a very valuable lesson that day, you will never get what you do not ask for.
Currently I am doing Freelance work for Firelock games. Once their current Kickstarter calms down, I should resume doing more 3D modeling work for them. Items that are destined to be sold by Firelock games will not be offered here on Reckless Terrain.
What Reckless Terrain offers
Being a tabletop gamer I know that we all work with limited budgets for this hobby. By the time you purchase a game system that you enjoy and are interested in and get things painted up. It doesn't leave much money left over to populate your gaming table. What I am offering is good quality pieces for a reasonable price.
What you will find here
- 6mm Terrain Pieces, Objectives and Mini's for Robotech RPG Tactics & Battletech
- 28mm Terrain and Accessories for Blood & Plunder
- Game pieces and Organizers for Arcadia Quest
- Game pieces for Giant Killer Robots: Heavy Hitters
- Game pieces for Zombicide
- Game pieces for Battlestar Galactica: A Thin Red Line
- Hobby related accessories
What the Future Brings
Besides continued expansion on the offerings currently offered. I have been developing a Hybrid-Tabletop game called; Battlestar Galactica: A Thin Red Line which has been shelved for the moment. I do plan on offering my own Expansions for games like Arcadia Quest, GKR: Heavy Hitters and Zombicide. These Expansions will offer new Sculpts, Cards and other Accessories. This whole process is going to take time to achieve. I will have to learn a new digital sculpting program, do the graphics work for the cards and concept work. So this is going to be a slow process.
Ordering, Payment & Shipping

To order please use the Contact Form at the right side of this page.
Let me know what you want and the quantities.

- I will notify you of any item that will need to be produced (printed) in order to complete the order.
- I will include a time line of the units that need to be produced (printed) for your order.
- I will also ask for Shipping Information.
If the order is a large order that will take up a good number of my time and resources. I may ask for Promissory Payment of half the total cost of the order before I start production on it. If you back out of the order once production has started. The Promissory Payment made on this order will be Forfeited and not returned. I do not see this happening very often and not all Promissory Payments will be Forfeited, there are always exceptions to the rule. If everyone is fair and honest there should be no issues.
I will then wait for an Approval E-mail Response with the Shipping Information included.
Once this happens I will start production to fulfill the order. If there are any delays or issues I will notify you and keep you informed on the progress of your order.

Although 3D Printing is a marvelous tool, it still has limitations. There will always be small imperfections that are just unavoidable due to temperature changes, humidity, layering, warping, slicing program and supports needed to print the item. If there are any questionable issues with an item, I will let you know of my concerns with it before I ship it out.
Shipping
All Shipping with in the Continental United States will cost $5.00.

On larger orders where I feel I can not safely ship those items with out damaging them in those two box sizes as mentioned above. I will source a larger box and help cover the increase in shipping as long it doesn't go beyond $10 in shipping. Meaning I will help cover any excess shipping cost that goes beyond the $5 up to $10.
On the placement of any order, I will let you know in advance of any concerns with shipping and its related cost.
International Shipping
Since International shipping varies so much according to its destination it is hard to list a known cost to do so. Shipping Internationally will vary by order and could ranged beyond $20 USD. All International Shipping will require a Customs slip and may require VAT or other Taxation depending on your Country's Rules.
I understand that VAT and other Taxation by your respective Country is and can be a high added expense to my customers. Please understand it is out of my power to change your Country's Taxation program and I have to work and function with in their rules.
